She is survived by her sister Donna Stockman of Bristol, her nieces Ruth Vontell and her husband Gregg of Bristol and Melissa Lifson of MA; her great-niece and nephews Quinn, Chadd and Emily; and several cousins.
Marilyn was a proud graduate of Bristol High School and she pursued a career in the insurance industry. Marilyn enjoyed crafts, from oil painting, quilting and knitting, to cross-stitching. She loved to read and attend Bible Study at St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. Marilyn was a fan of watching Jeopardy, The Young and the Restless, and figure skating.
Marilyn's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 13th from 10:30am to 11am at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. A Funeral Service will begin at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment will be private at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent to St. John Lutheran Church, Master's Manna, or the Meriden Humane Society.

My deepest condolences to the family of Marilyn Gere
We met at The Meriden Public Library where I worked we became good friends and would have great conversations her love of family good reads crafts painting crocheting and so much more through the years Marilyn crocheted many baby outfits and ponchis for me , I want to share story I told Marilyn how my 4yo granddaughters handmade blanket was stollen at a Hotel laundry mat ,how she cried we all were so emotional on how she loved and missed her blankie Marilyn said she'd love to crochet a new blanket my granddaughter picked out yard same color mauve and Marilyn crocheted a lovely pattern my granddaughter now is 28yo and still cherishes her blanket and tells the sweet story of Marilyn. I will cherish sweet memories of Marilyn and her contagious smile. May she enjoy paridise dancing with her Richard.
