Marilyn Florence Grieb

Marilyn Florence Gearhart Grieb, 92, of Spokane, WA passed away on November 3, 2025.

Marilyn was born on March 10, 1933 in Spokane, WA to Harry and Eloise Gearhart. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1951 and from Kinman Business University with a degree in business. Over the years she worked as an administrative assistant in several insurance companies.

Marilyn married Russell J. Grieb in 1951 and the couple had two children together. She was known as a friendly, sociable, smart, and open-minded woman whose talents ranged from sewing and drawing to playing piano by ear. She was a Bloomsday runner over 25 times.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Jamie Sturgeon of Yakima, WA and Scott (Cindy) Grieb of Crystal Lake, IL; her grandchildren, Melanie (Mike) Burns, Lindsay Sturgeon, Katie (Scot) Norris, Heather (Ryan) Fox, and Benjamin Grieb; her great-grandchildren, Miranda, Mason, Jacob, Caspian, Carwen, James, Blake, and Sarah; great-great grandchildren Kingsley and Roslyn; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also is survived by Walt Holderman, a very caring man and companion with whom she enjoyed many travelling adventures.

Marilyn requested no funeral services but that she simply be remembered by her family. Professional services are being provided through Heritage Funeral & Cremation.
