Marilyn Hurlebaus Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Marilyn Hurlebaus (Leaverton) passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, just a few weeks prior to her 89th birthday. Marilyn was the beloved wife of Richard Hurlebaus, known as "Poppy" to their grandchildren, who preceded her in death in 2014. She found happiness again in 2016, spending many wonderful years with her loving companion Joseph McGee.

Born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas and Ethel Leaverton, she was a caring sister to June (Walt) and Thomas (Deborah). She had several life-long friends who made up her "Sorority" including: her sister June, Carol, Lois, Joan, Joan, Jane, and Dolly. She lived in Abington and Huntingdon Valley before moving to Ann's Choice in 2005.

Marilyn's life was devoted to her family. She was a loving and dedicated full-time mother to daughter Kathleen (Thomas) and son Joseph (Sandi). She was a caring aunt and 2nd mother to many nieces and nephews, including June Ann, Jennie Ann, Sharon, Thomas, and Christopher. She was an amazing, hands-on grandmother, who spent countless days on adventures with her 8 grandchildren: Jill, Jessica, Carly, Joy, Alisa, Paul, Sarah, and David. Even in her later years, she was regularly present at birthdays and events for her 13 great-grandchildren: Madison, Sebastian, Alexis, Ava, Jonathan, Desmond, Finley, Grace, Austin, Thomas, Niles, Samantha, and Fiona. She encouraged us, listened, and made each of us feel important. She never left a conversation without saying how much she loved us. We will all miss her dearly.

The family will receive their friends at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 West Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 am, with a funeral mass to begin at 11:00 am. Private Cremation will follow.
