Marilyn Maples

Marilyn Anne Maples, 76, of Pleasant Hill, TN died January 28, 2025. Marilyn was born on March 1, 1948 in Hickory, NC to J. Wayne and "Fritzie" Maples. She was the proud mother of Nancy Rice and Franklin Cobos II. Her unexpected death suddenly interrupted her contentedly occupied retirement years spent serving her local Seventh-day Adventist church, traveling with friends and family, and keeping up with her grandchildren's pursuits and interests. Favorite pastimes included gardening and baking bread, through which she blessed all those who came in contact with her.
Survivors include sister Karyn Robinson, daughter Nancy Rice (John) son Franklin Cobos II, grandchildren Emilie and Patrick Rice, and niece Melanie (Dan) Sutton. She is also fondly remembered by Franklin Cobos and Keith Smith and numerous members of extended family.
She would be pleased if, in lieu of flowers, charitable donations were made to either Amazing Facts Adventist Ministry (amazingfacts.org), or Adventist Health International (ahiglobal.org) and designated for Baraka Hospital, Chad, Africa.
Visitation will occur on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3 pm at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2335 West Ave., Crossville, TN 38557.
