Marilyn Faye Montgomery, born on May 25, 1941, left this earth on December 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Glen Montgomery, one daughter, Katrina, her mother, Anthey Price, a sister, Mary Castel, and a brother, Donnie Price. She is survived by three daughters, Kay Montgomery of Nicholasville, Debra Mollett of Lexington, and Glenda Montgomery-Reynolds also of Nicholasville, four grandkids, Angie, Scott, Brad, and Trenton, eight great-grandkids, Kelsey, Caleb, Chris, Ashlee, Brooke, Maddie, Michael, Ben, Bryttani, and four great-great grandkids, Kayleigh, Kinsley, Lukas, and Liam, and two sisters, Della and Frances of Paintsville, Kentucky. Faye (My Granny) was an amazing woman. She raised and helped raise her entire family. Everyone from her first daughter down to her great-great-grandson. If you knew her, you were blessed. She would have given you the shirt off her back, and if she loved you, she would have given you the shirt with a piece of her heart attached. Her world revolved around her family. She was not only our Mother or Granny, but she was also our best friend. She was the person that we could go to when everything was going wrong; she would be waiting right there, usually in the kitchen, with a hug and a bite to eat, and by the time you got to that last bite, you knew everything was going to be alright. She was our warrior, fighting for what she believed was right—always fighting for what she believed was right—always fighting for her family in the face of any adversity. Her community and neighbors also meant a lot to her. A lot of children on Brown St. and just about everyone younger than her girls called her granny at least once or twice. She was the rock of our family, the glue that held us all together. There’s no doubt in my mind how much she loved me, loved us all, and there’s no doubt in my mind that she knew just how very loved she has always been. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. This obituary was lovingly submitted by the Montgomery family.
