Marilyn Hale Pearce Bangerter
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marilyn Hale Pearce Bangerter died February 7, 2025, at the age of 91 at The Peaks at South Jordan Memory Care Facility, South Jordan, Utah.
Marilyn was born December 13, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Lloyd and Malinda Lovisa Miller Hale. She was the baby sister to three brothers who adored her. At the age of three her father passed away. Soon after her mother remarried Orson Parker Christensen (Christie) who raised her through her education years. She received her education in Granger, Utah and graduated from Cyprus High School.
At the age of fifteen she met the love of her life Richard Bohn Pearce (Dick) it was love at first sight. She waited for him to return from a two-and-a-half-year mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Six weeks later they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 30, 1953. Their love story lasted 50 years together until Dick's passing on March 1, 2004.
She had more love to share and reconnected with a childhood friend, Max Bangerter. They were married on May 17, 2010, and enjoyed 11 wonderful years of companionship and love until his passing on July 29, 2021.
Her mother was an inspirational example to her. Teaching her the life skills of motherhood and homemaking which was her passion. Marilyn spent most of her life being a caregiver to many family members and friends. The act of helping others with love and compassion will be remembered as one of her greatest qualities.
Marilyn had a beautiful testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ. She faithfully served in many church callings, including Relief Society Stake Presidency.
Marilyn is survived by her children Dick (Christie) Pearce, Springville, Utah; Malinda (Steve) Hansen, South Jordan, Utah; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert Lloyd Hale, William Renae Hale, Clair Miller Hale; and her spouses.
A viewing will be held Saturday, February 15th from 11:30 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:30 P.M. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah at 2:00 P.M.
