Marilyn Barbee Pendley

Marilyn Barbee Pendley, age 99 of Rochester, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on Thursday, June 10, 1926, in Rochester, KY, Marilyn's life was full of love, laughter and memories that will be forever treasured by all who knew her.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Dan and Clara Brown Barbee, devoted husband, Doug Pendley, and her sisters Ester Smith, Hazel Newman, and Glenda Mercer.
Marilyn's memory will be cherished by her three children, Leslie Talley (Scott), Stan Pendley (Angie), and Kay Howard (Carl Daugherty). She was a proud and doting grandmother to seven grandchildren: Todd Lusher, Danielle Darsey (Cody), Amanda Smith (Andy), Shiloh Harr (Michael), Mica Harr (Bryan), Jacob Howard (Jaclyn) and Jordan Howard (Jessi). Her twelve great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy. She will be lovingly remembered by her companion of 20 years, Ray Belcher, with whom she shared love and laughter, as well as by her nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Rochester, KY, Marilyn had a wonderful life which she often spoke of with great fondness. She loved to tell stories from her youth and did so with captivating detail. Together with her late husband, Marilyn was the proud co owner of Pendley Super Saver in Rochester, Kentucky, where her dedication and spirited nature were instrumental in the store's success. Marilyn was a member of First Christian Church which reflected her faith-filled life, as she served her community with grace and dedication.
Marilyn's life was well-lived and full of passion. She loved and enjoyed her home in Florida, swimming, reading, playing cards, golf and spending quality time with her family and friends filled her days with happiness and purpose. In her younger days, she loved to play softball, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was adventurous and lived life to the fullest. Marilyn's smile, laughter, warmth and wit will live on in the memory of all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 2:00pm with her son Stan Pendley officiating. Burial will be held in the Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Rochester Cemetery Fund P.O.
