Marilyn R. Sulc, 93, of Troy, IL, born Tuesday, April 22, 1930 in Edwardsville, IL and passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 31, 2023.
Marilyn loved her family, enjoying the times spent with them. She enjoyed history and volunteered with the Madison County, Glen Carbon and Troy Historical Societies. Bird watching and flower gardening were one of her many enjoyments of life, she was the village gardener for the Village of Glen Carbon for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sulc; and her parents, Fred and Cecelia (nee Helmkamp) Casna.
Surviving are her daughters, Susan Sulc of Santa Fe, NM, Barbara Starwalt of Sorento, IL, Jeanine (Matt) Talbot of Troy, IL, Carol Brockmeyer of Glen Carbon, IL and Mary (Mark) Porter of Edwardsville, IL; her grandchildren, Makenzie (Michael) Sledd, Drew Talbot, Nick (Becca) Starwalt, Larrisa Brockmeyer, Kelsey and Grant Adams; and her 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Cedarhurst of Troy Activity fund or Hospice of Southern IL. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.Richesonfh.com
Celebration of life service will be held 1 to 4 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Glen Carbon Senior Center, 157 N Main St, Glen Carbon, IL 62034.
Interment was in Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL
