Marilyn Whitman, age 80, of Bryan, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Marilyn was a homemaker and member of the Bryan Moose and AmVets. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Marilyn was born on July 6, 1943 in New Haven, Indiana, the daughter of Earl W. and Margaret L. (Mattingly) Sholl. Marilyn was a 1963 graduate of Edgerton High School. She married William “Bill” Whitman in Edgerton, Ohio on April 11, 1964 and he survives.
Marilyn is also survived by sons, Marty (Trisha) Whitman, of Summerville, South Carolina and Scott Whitman, of Bryan; daughter, Wendy Schaper, of Bryan ;7 grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Landon (Kayla), Shi’Anna, Sierrah, Andrea and Shane; 2 great-grandchildren, Ella and Elijah; siblings, Casey (Roger) Rupp, of Edgerton, Cheryl Schuller, of Edon, Mary (Lavon) Stark, of Bryan, Andy (Sandy) Sholl, of Hicksville, Christine Cromwell, of Fort Wayne, Jane (Milo) Knox, of Hicksville, Tom (Kim) Sholl, of Edgerton, Loretta (Dave) Koby, of Bryan and Lorraine (Bob) Gearig, of Montpelier; sister-in-law, Karen Sholl, of Edgerton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jo (Dick) Harman, Randy Sholl, Rachel (Sam) Metz and Connie Sidle and brothers-in-law, Scott Cromwell and Junior Schuller.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with services immediately following at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Michael Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio.
The family requests memorial donations be directed to the American Cancer Society.
