Mario J. Kucich was born April 20, 1922 in San Francisco and passed Oct 20, 2022, in Fairfield CA, of multiple organ failure. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Wanda. He is survived by his children: Carolyn Orelli (Rio Vista, CA) , John (Dianne-Princeton, NJ) and Greg (South Bend IN), as well as grandchildren: Brian Orelli (Susan-San Diego, CA) and Theresa Orelli (Bill Chickering - Redwood City), 5 great grandchildren: Meron, Estifanos, Kayeso and Yordie Orelli and Marilyn Chickering, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish and lived in Redwood City for 60 years. He was also a member of St. Joseph parish in Rio Vista, where he lived for 10 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years and supported St. Vincent de Paul at both parishes. He and Wanda loved to travel, and frequently visited extended family and friends, in the United States and Europe. He was proud of his family's many achievements in education, teaching, and sports. He took his children to the library each week, to read new books. He attended as many activities and games as possible! He lived a very full and very long, long life.
Visitation will be at Crippen Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Rd, Redwood City, on Thursday Oct 27, 3 - 6 pm. Private funeral services will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St Vincent de Paul, Rio Vista Chapter, PO Box 412, Rio Vista CA 94571.
