His wife of 41 years, Ramona Jo Benefield of Sylacauga; Sons, Neil Benefield and wife, Rita, David Benefield III and wife, Stephanie and Sam Mann and wife, Angel, all of Papertown; Daughters, Renee Benefield of Pell City and Gail Grier of Sylacauga; Daughter-in-Law, Melissa Benefield of Maryland; Sons-in-Law, Rusty Grier, Chris Beasley and Gary Varner, all of Sylacauga; Brothers, James Benefield and wife, Teresa of Papertown and Wren Benefield and wife, Ginger of Odena; Brother-in-Law, Harold Justice of Sylacauga; Sisters, Ann Mann of Papertown, Jean Johnston of Papertown and Wanda Phillips and husband, Gary of Hidden Valley; 12 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren
Additional Biographical Information
He owned and operated Benefield's Grocery on Hwy 280 and M.D.'s in Sycamore and Sylacauga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion David Benefield, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Gay Benefield; grandson, Jonathan Paul Benefield; and great granddaughter, Abbygail Irene Grier.
Pallbearers will be Sam Mann, Matt Phillips, Randy Phillips, Wyatt Benefield, Casey Patterson and Ryan Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Butler and Wren Benefield II.

I am sorry to here about mr. benefield, but he is up there with his great granddaughter abby and i bet they are both lookind down on all of you. take some comfort knowing he is with loved ones that are already in heaven and we all will see them again. i am sorry for your loss and all of you are in my prayers.

MAWMAW AND PAWPAW I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE YALL. YALL HAVE BEEN THERE THROUGH EVERYTHING WHETHER IT BE GOOD OR BAD AND I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT ABOUT YALL AS MY OWN PARENTS. I have been priviledged to know the Benefield family all my life. I think the Benefields and Pattersons have always been raised up together! I pray God will give you the strength during this time.
