Marion Call Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schiefelbein Funeral Home on Sep. 30, 2024.
Marion Kay (Pederson) Call, 87, of Osseo, Wis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Osseo. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Marion was born on the family farm in Whitehall, Wis on April 11, 1937 to Joseph and Eleanor (Anderson) Pederson. After graduating from Whitehall High School, she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Call, Jr. They met at a social event where Jim's friend dared him to go ask the tall, beautiful woman across the room to dance with him. To his surprise, she said yes. They were united in marriage on September 21, 1957. They lived happily together on the Call family farm, south of Osseo for over 50 years.
Marion was the definition of a farmer's wife. Besides keeping busy cooking, cleaning and caring for their three sons, Marion helped out in the dairy and poultry barn. After her kids were grown, she babysat for several of her neighbor's children.
Marion was also very active in 4H, FFA and the Kings Valley Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Church's WELCA group, worked as a ladies aid, and participated in the Osseo Women's Birthday Club. Marion was an incredible cook and baker. She will especially be remembered for her apple pies made from the apple tree on their farm, her famous chocolate chip cookies, and her delicious mashed potatoes, which were requested by her granddaughter for every family gathering.
Marion is survived by her three sons, Steve Call of Osseo, David Call of Osseo, Warren (Mary Temp) Call of Onalaska; granddaughter, Maci Call of Onalaska; sisters, Barbara Rolfing of Winona, Minn., Rose Everson of Blair, Wis.; and brother, Kermit (Sharon) Pederson, of Whitehall, Wis., as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim, her parents, Joseph and Eleanor, and a sister, Joanne.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Kings Valley Lutheran Church, Osseo. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm. The Pastor David Christianson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
