M. F. "Buddy" Fikes, a cherished member of the Winnsboro community, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 2, 1940, Buddy lived a life characterized by deep connections with family, friends, and his beloved pursuits. He was a dedicated member of Perryville Baptist Church, where he found both spiritual fulfillment and a sense of belonging. Buddy had a profound passion for the outdoors, and he spent many joyful hours hunting, fishing, and raising cattle. These hobbies are not only provided him with immense satisfaction but also allowed him to create lasting memories with loved ones in the beauty of nature.

Buddy is survived by his sons, Dwayne Fikes of Perryville, Texas and Gordon Fikes and his fiancée Peggy of Frankston, Texas. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Larry Stout and his wife Linda, and Henry Stout and his wife Jan, all residing in Winnsboro, Texas. His sisters, Martha Carter of Perryville, Texas, and Melba Meade of Dallas, Texas, along with his sister-in-law Toi Stout of Perryville, Texas, will carry on his legacy in their hearts. Buddy was also a beloved uncle, with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Lela Mae Hargis Fikes, as well as his wives, Annona Irene and Bonnie Fikes. He was also preceded by his brothers, Roy Dan Stout and Troy Stout. 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Beaty Funeral Home, located at 816 W Broadway St, Winnsboro, Texas, on September 29, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will take place later that day at Perryville Cemetery, commencing at 12:00 PM.

As we gather to honor Buddy Fikes, we remember a man who held steadfast to his values, cherished family, and embraced the joys of life. His spirit will undoubtedly continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
