A memorial service for Marion will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Gardner Funeral Home of Runnemede, NJ. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to Marion's service. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Marion was born in Camden, NJ, on February 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Ronald and Emma Schmich, and younger sister of the late Ruth R. Ashcraft.
She was raised in Deptford and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1952. After graduating, she worked as a floral designer for her close friend Harold Cook, owner of Cook's Florist, for over 50 years. During that time, she married her dear husband, the late Clifford Marshall. They spent many happy years together fishing in the Delaware Bay. In addition to fishing, Marion loved caring for her beautiful flowers, taking photographs, spending time at the shore, and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles. In her later years, Marion enjoyed the company of her wonderful companion, the late Earl Griffin.
Marion is survived by her nephews and nieces, Chuck (Brenda), Ron (Mary), Karen (David), and Sharon (Mike), numerous great nephews and nieces, great-great nephews and nieces, and one great-great-great nephew.
The family would like to recognize Karen Clements for her assistance with their Aunt Marion.
