Marion "Mimi" Truesdale passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on August 31st, 2025 in Johnstown.
She was born Marion Ann Hodel on March 11, 1938, in Syracuse, the eldest of 4 children of Robert and Dorothy (Klotz) Hodel. She is survived by her brother, Bob Hodel, and her sister, Ivy ("Pixie") Sullivan. She is predeceased by her brother, Frederick Hodel.
Mimi lived in various locations in upstate NY, as well as in Florida, before moving with her family to Gloversville as a teenager. She was a 1955 graduate of Gloversville High School, and married Lawrence Russell McCloskey Jr. on August 3, 1956, and they had 5 children. Mimi later married Richard Spanos in 1974.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Hall-Lanteri (Vincent), Lisa Crocetta (Richard), and her son Robert McCloskey (Dawn), as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by two of her sons, Lawrence Robert McCloskey (Tracey) and Michael McCloskey (Sheri).
Mimi remained in the area the rest of her life, living in Gloversville, Sprakers, and Johnstown. She had several employers during her working career, including the old Argersinger's Dept. Store, Nathan Littauer Hospital, and the Tribes Hill Post Office, which she ran for decades before retiring at 81 years old.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 5th, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 325 S. Comrie Ave., Johnstown, NY.
Burial will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY.
Memorial donations in Mimi's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church in Johnstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
