Marissa M. Sleger, age 21, a Manitowoc resident, passed away unexpectedly leaving her loved ones on Friday, March 7, 2025.
She was born October 18, 2003, daughter of Travis Sleger and Krista Schmoock. Marissa attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 2022. During high school, Marissa worked at Burger King of Manitowoc, following high school she was employed with Redline Plastics. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc. Marissa enjoyed drawing, playing video games, and anime. She also loved being outdoors. She was a lover of music and animals, especially dogs. Marissa enjoyed cooking and especially loved sharing the food with others. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and coworkers. She had an outgoing personality and was always willing to share her opinion. Marissa was a loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marissa is survived by her parents: Travis Sleger (Leticia "Leti" Solis) and Krista Schmoock; her sister: Cadance Sleger (Fiancé Hunter VanMaastricht); maternal grandmother: Francis Schmoock; paternal grandparents: Wayne Lee Sleger and Constance Sleger; great-uncle: David "Uncle Day Day" Haefke; aunts and uncles: Tamara (Sleger) Shorter; Barb (David) Kuehl, Lisa Schmoock; and Bill Schmoock; as well as many cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandpa: William Schmoock Sr.; great-aunt: Pat "Aunty Patty" Haefke; and other relatives.
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a private family memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 N. Water Street, Manitowoc. Following the private family service, a public life celebration social will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Marissa will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.
