Marjorie Buccino, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold J. "Butch" Buccino. Born in New Haven on February 18, 1931, daughter of the late John Falcigno and Anna Giglietti Falcigno Sorrentino, Marge worked for the Yale University Library for several years before joining Dr. Cohen at the Yale Child Study Center as his secretary, retiring after 25 years of service. She was an avid figure skater in the New Haven Arena and was a member of the Ice Follies. An avid sports fan, she loved the NY Yankees and Rangers, tennis, but was the most devoted fan of her grandchildren at all of their sporting events, even following their soccer team around Europe. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and the times she spent in Florida. Marge is the proud mother of Vincent (Robin) Buccino, Richard Buccino, William Buccino and Anne (Richard) Katz. Sister of the late Alphonse Falcigno. Devoted grandmother of Brian (Sarah) and Dustin Buccino, Michaela (Sero) Amroliwalla, Christopher Katz, James Buccino and Gianna Buccino Munson. Great grandmother of Avery, Hailey and Jack.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11:00 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Rd in Woodbridge. Please meet directly at church. Burial will be private.
