William Henry Ferrigno, Sr. of North Branford passed away peacefully January 2, 2025 at Ark Healthcare in Branford. For 70 years he was the beloved husband of Marie Maratea Ferrigno. Born in New Haven on July 3, 1929 he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Vuolo Ferrigno. Bill was a proud US Army veteran who served during the Korean Crisis. Upon his honorable discharge he embarked on a long career as an auto body mechanic before working at a book bindery company. He was a hard worker with the sole intent to provide for his family. Bill enjoyed photography, wine making, cooking and especially gardening where his green thumb produced the most amazing tomatoes; although the most important thing in life to him was his family and faith. He was also a die hard UConn women's basketball fan and watched every televised game with his wife. Bill and his wife thoroughly enjoyed their timeshares on the Cape, and loved sharing it with family. He is the proud father of William Ferrigno, Jr. (Andrea Chiappa), Ken Ferrigno (Donna), Thomas Ferrigno (Sharon Zaehringer), Jean Munro (David), Daniel Ferrigno, David Ferrigno (Maria) and the late William H. Ferrigno, Jr. Brother of Ann Esposito and the late Jane Lamonica and Joseph Ferrigno. Grandfather of David Munro (Alexandra), Kristin Devlin (Mark), Jennifer Ferrigno, (Anthony Schettino) Peter Ferrigno, Alex Ferrigno, Elisa Ferrigno, Chelsea Ehmke (Eric), Viktoria Chiappa, and Christopher Chiappa (Sara). Great grandfather of Leila, Raelynn. Maverick, Brady, Carter and Ellie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 10:00AM at St. Pio of Pietrelcina parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Rd. in East Haven. Military honors will be presented following Mass. Burial will be private. The Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. is in care of his arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
