MARJORIE ANN FLEMING

1933 - 2023

MARJORIE ANN (POWELL) FLEMING (OCTOBER 4, 1933 - SEPTEMBER 5, 2023) Marjorie Ann (Powell) Fleming was born to Fletcher and Levora Powell on October 4, 1933 in Fredonia, Kansas and raised in Madison, Kansas. She had two younger brothers, Karl and David. On June 8, 1952, Marjorie married William (Bill) Fleming in Madison, Kansas. They moved to Independence, Missouri in 1956 where they raised their three children John, Doug and Susan. In 1982, Bill and moved to Lees Summit, Missouri in 1988. Bill passed away in 2003 and Marjorie moved to Columbia, Missouri in 2016 to be closer to her daughter, Susan. Marjorie passed away on September 5, 2023 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and both brothers. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws, John and Robyn Fleming and Doug and Lynn Fleming, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ed Williams, her grandchildren and great-grand children, Becky and Andy Meyer (Alex), Amy and Tyler Crawford (Cade, Riley and Josie), Callie and Michael Maw (Anabelle and Eden), Daniel and Samantha Fleming (Sophia, Cam, Bray and Jayce), Kimberly Fleming (Violet and Hattie), Jennifer and James Bain, Kristen Williams, and Brett and Samantha Williams (Bailey) as well as many loving nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery, 1818 N. River Blvd, Independence Missouri, on Wednesday, October 4th at 11:00 am followed by lunch to at the Independence First United Methodist Church.
