My Aunt Marj was in my life for my 76 years. She was my Godmother and best friend. She and I enjoyed going to Operas in Boston for a lot of years; eating at the Town Spa for pizza and salad and going on our mini vacations and day trips till she was in her 80's.
Many times we experienced hysterical laughter at things that we did. She was the "hostess with the most-ess" for many parties with family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed cooking, baking, drawing, old TV shows, and she was always 'ready in a minute' when invited to go for a ride to the Cape. As a young girl, her family spent their summers in Buzzards Bay at their cottage. She worked at the Gas Co., in Brockton, then later as an Admissions Receptionist at the old Goddard Hospital in Stoughton, and upon retirement stayed on as a Volunteer for a twenty year tenure. After her marriage, she and husband Albert W. moved to South Easton where she lived for 62 years. Following Marj's husband's death, her mother, May, moved in with her.
Marjorie was one of the founding members of the Fuller Art Museum in Brockton; member of the Ames Library, Easton Garden Club, and the Browning Club.
She graduated Brockton High School in 1942, and attended Green Mountain Jr. College in Poultney, VT.
Prior to her death, she resided at Height's Crossing Assisted Living for 4 years, then at S.E. Rehab in No. Easton till her passing.
Marjorie (Auntie) will be sorely missed by everyone. I am hoping that she and her best friend will be enjoying tea and scones from now on.
We love you Aunt! Rest now ... Hugs!
