Marjorie "Marge" Frances Levenson (née Gold), of Lady Lake, formerly of Bloomfield, CT, and Newport, RI, passed away on April 6, 2025.
She is survived by daughters Dena McWilliams and Nancy Levenson, brother Bill Gold, granddaughters Camille and Haley McWilliams, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, Gary, and husband, Ellis.
A graduate of Dean Junior College, Marjorie worked as a buyer for Lord & Taylor. She ran a successful fabric business: Margie's Fabrics, in Bloomfield, CT. In her spare time, Marge pursued a variety of creative endeavors, many of which included sewing. She loved unusual and one-of-a-kind items. With this in mind, she made beautiful clothing, created a line of custom mahjong accessories, and excelled at home decorating.
Marge and Ellis traveled extensively, visiting Europe, Australia, and many U.S. destinations. Marge enjoyed gourmet food, crossword puzzles, and cruises. She relished her weekly get-togethers with friends to play cards and mahjong. She often delivered batches of comforting chicken soup to friends and family. Marge's all-time favorite song was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and her favorite number was 42.
The family will have a private memorial service.
In remembrance of Marjorie's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Touro Synagogue in Newport, RI. https://tourosynagogue.org/donate/ (401) 847-4794
