Marjorie "Marge" E. Main, 99, of Greenwood, joined her devoted husband Charles and loving daughter Charlene in heaven on Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. Marge was born on October 6th, 1922 to the late William Henry Hauser and Selma (Dayhuff) Hauser in Coal City, Indiana. She married the love of her life Charles L. Main on June 29th, 1942 in Coal City. On February 25, 1948, she gave birth to her loving daughter Charlene.
The greatest joy of Marge's life was her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend. She was a strong believer in Christ and had a very personal relationship with her savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout her almost 100 years of life, she was an avid world traveler, shopper, euchre shark and cornhole champ. Marge followed Lieutenant Colonel Charles L. Main (husband) everywhere he went: Scotland, Germany, Hawaii just to name a few not to mention the many cruises. Marge was always classy and well-dressed everywhere she went. Her beautiful smile and wit were loved by all who knew her.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Hauser and Selma (Dayhuff) Hauser, her husband Charlie, daughter Charlene, four sisters Lena Dunigan, Lela Nikirk, Maxine Inman, Rosalie Easton, and three brothers Theodore Hauser, Dewey Hauser and Dwight Hauser.
Surviving are many nephews, nieces, greats, great greats and great great greats.
There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel at 10am, 2433 E Main St, Greenwood, IN 46143. The burial will be at Fiscus Cemetery immediately following the service, 12655 Fiscus Cemetery Rd, Coal City, IN, 47427.

Nancy Hoadley

October 2, 2022

Marjorie became my husband, David Hoadley's, nanny, when he was about 2, and his family lived in Spencer. She met Charlie when she went with David and his mother to David's grandmother's home and church in Westland for a weekend.
The Hoadleys/Mains maintained connection until near the end of Marjorie's life. We last visited her in the hospital in early August. Although ill, Marjorie was still the welcoming, happy, optimistic person we knew and loved. She was still a great story teller who was so grateful for the long, full life she lived with Charlie and Charlene. She felt loved and supported by her nephews and nieces and was looking forward to returning home with their support.
We will miss having Marjorie in our world.
