Surrounded by family, Marjorie Neddo, age 93, died a peaceful death on September 24,2025. Born to Raymond and Mildred (Brown) Ratty in Laona on December 16, 1931, she was one seven children.
She spent her childhood growing up on a dairy farm where she developed a life- long love of vegetable gardening. Basement shelves were always full of jars of canned veggies that the family enjoyed throughout the year.
Margie spent most of her life in Laona and was a graduate of Laona High School. She worked at Connor Forest Industries until her retirement. Margie was a longtime member of the Presbyterian church.
In 1969 she and her husband Jack built a house on the property that had once been part of her family's farmland. She lived there until she became a resident of NuRoc last winter.
Margie is survived by her five children: Marilyn (Tim) Gandre of Katy,Texas; Janet (Joe) Sackett of Wausaukee; John (Sandy) of Laona; Ken(Kim) of Rhinelander; and Kay(Jim) Connors of Eau Claire. As a mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be deeply missed.
The family is deeply grateful for the love and care that Margie received from the staff at NuRoc and Compassus' hospice unit.
The family is holding a private graveside service.
