Peter Widucki Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weber-Hill & Packard Funeral Home - Crandon on Oct. 1, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Scott Widucki, who left us on July 29, 2025, at the age of 49. Peter was born on November 17, 1975, to Huck (Ed) and Rita Widucki.
Pete's life was marked by a deep love for his famiy and a dedication to friends and strangers. His real love was for that of the Camp 5 Lumberjack Steam train, of which he was Chief Engineer, Mechanic and mentor to those he supervised on his crew for the past 26 years. It was said that he could just listen to the steam engine and know if there was a problem and where it came from. Pete was gifted with an uncanny mechanical ability, which he generously shared with anyone encountering a problem. From making homemade parts, to concocting a solution no one thought would work, Pete got the problem solved, if just enough to get the person on their way.
Pete graduated from Laona High School and in the interim took welding classes at the Blackwell Job Corps. Pete was an accomplished welder as well as a gifted mechanic.
Pete is survived by his parents, Huck and Rita, brother Paul, sister Annie, and two sons, Petey and Keenan. Nieces and nephew, Allyson Britten, Daisy (Sawyer) Anderson, Trevor Britten, Jade (Leif) Widucki. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Ruth Brunette and Joe and Annie Widucki, and nephew Logan Widucki.
Pete had a special place in his heart for Miss Cate, his boss at the Camp 5 Steam train. She could not have been a better friend to him. He respected her very much and loved working with her. We all appreciate all the things she has done for him over the years and we know Pete loved her like family.
A Special thank you to those working at Schaefer's IGA, especially Jay Schaeffer, John Sheldon and Johnny for their quick response and comforting words. We really appreciate all the EMT's who did everything they could to help Pete in his time of need.
A memorial luncheon to celebrate Pete's life will be held on Sunday, August 10 at the Newald Town Hall from noon to 4.
Pete's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in Peace Pete!
