WEYMOUTH – Marjorie L. (Diemer) Pelland, 94, of Weymouth passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. She had lived in Weymouth for over 70 years.
Marge was an only child to Alfred and Josephine Diemer and grew up in Roslindale before moving to Weymouth when she got married in 1950. Marge was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Pelland Sr. who predeceased her at the age of 55. Marge became a single mother to their seven children whom she cherished.
Devoted mother of Nancy Flynn of Weymouth; Janice Lambiase and her husband Michael of Braintree; Elaine Romano and her husband Daniel of Scituate; the late Joseph Pelland, Jr. and his wife JoAnn of Weymouth, Michael Pelland and Barbara Matthes of Weymouth; Thomas Pelland and his wife Kelly of Bridgewater; and Linda Lyons and her husband John of Hanover; “Grammy” to 16 grandchildren and “GiGi” to 13 great grandchildren.
When their children were young, Marge and Joe would take them on family vacations in Dennisport on Cape Cod. These trips left memories to cherish of special times spent together.
After becoming a widow, Marge got her driver’s license and took a job at Electroswitch in Weymouth where she worked for eleven years until she retired in 1995.
While living on Fuller Road in Weymouth for so many years, Marge made lifelong friends who raised their children together and spent a lot of time together. Marge loved listening to music, especially country music. She loved to go out on the town, whether she was shopping with her daughters or going to lunch or dinner at a restaurant.
Marge was a wonderful woman who always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had an easy-going nature and always looked beautiful with a smile on her face. She loved the beach and sitting by her daughter, Jan’s, pool in the summer. Marge also loved the slot machines and her trips to Foxwoods. She was always up for some fun.
Marge is remembered fondly and will be missed by all who knew her.
