Marjorie Elizabeth Schroeder

Marjorie E. Schroeder age 91 of Detroit Lakes, MN died August 17, 2025, at the Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN.

Marjorie Elizabeth Schroeder was born October 22, 1933, in Detroit Lakes to George and Amanda (Erickson) Gebeke. She grew up and received her education in Detroit Lakes, Graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1951. On October 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Schroeder. They lived and raised their kids in Detroit Lakes. Over the years Marjorie worked for Norby’s, Fingerhut, and Arctic Cat in Detroit Lakes and Tuffy’s in Perham, MN.

Her hobbies included sewing and gardening.

She is survived by one son, Steven (Connie) Schroeder, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Erik (Sarah) Schroeder, Erin (J.T.) Almeida, and Alison Noah; four great grandchildren, Doc, Lenny, Audrey, and John; one sister, Dorothy Sebilius; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; one son, Bruce; two brothers, Harold Gebeke and Ed Gebeke; four sisters, Myrtle Leegard, Florence Priewe, Laura McDowell, and Helen Anderson; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday August 26, 2025; 11:00 a.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN.
