MORTON ~ Marjorie (Marge) Marie Venegoni, 98, of Morton, passed away peacefully, at home, on Monday, February 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 3,1926, in Galesburg, Illinois to John and Margaret (Hensler) Watson. She was the youngest of four daughters.
Marge graduated from Galesburg High School and Cottage Nursing School in Galesburg. She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps in World War II. She met the love of her life, Eugene Venegoni, and married him on December 26,1955.
Marge was a devout Catholic, devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a kind, caring, generous and loving woman who welcomed everyone into her home. Family meant everything to her and she was everything to her family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Illini fan.
She is survived by her six children: Angie (Steve) Kouri of Peoria, Illinois, John (and the late Claudia) Venegoni of Estero, Florida, Mary Venegoni of Washington, Illinois, Tony (Dr. Maureen Lillich) Venegoni of Morton, Illinois, Gina (Ken) Kouri of Peoria, Illinois, and Jo (Garry) Finch of Morton, Illinois. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren: Dr. Annie (Dr. Khalid Azzam) Kouri, Steve Kouri II, Mark (Danielle) Venegoni, Jenna (Mitch) Herzog, David (Kara) Venegoni, Luke (Eleia) Venegoni, Elizabeth Venegoni, Bryan Venegoni, Michael Kouri, Matthew (Mary) Kouri, Ben Kouri, Katherine Finch, Claire Finch, John Finch, Olivia Finch, Bella Finch and twelve great grandchildren: Adam, Sammy and Lyla Azzam, Gabriella, Nico, Luca, Carter, Max and Dominic Venegoni and Teddy, Josephine and Auggie Herzog.
Marge's husband, parents, three sisters and one daughter- in - law preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Morton, on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00pm with recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm.
Her funeral Mass will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Morton, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00 -10:45am. Monsignor Gerald T. Ward and Father Adam Cesarek will officiate. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
