Mark Anthony “Geese” Barrios AKA Donald Duck, was born in New Orleans, LA on January 29, 1956, and left us way before his time on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the age of 69 doing what he loved.
Mark is the beloved husband and best friend of Julie Ward Barrios, married for 52 years. He is the son of the late Levi and Vivian Folse Barrios. Proud father of Greg Anthony Barrios and Amy Barrios Hamilton (Brian). Proud grandfather of Ralph Rodgers, Noah Barrios, Brayden Barrios, Seth Barrios, and Isabel Hamilton. The proud great grandfather of Vivian Rodgers. He is the beloved brother of Patricia Barrios Pitre (Warren) and Walter Barrios (Bonny). He is survived by many much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Westwego Senior Center. He retired after 38 years from Avondale/Northrop Grumman Shipyard. He was a Production Planner in the Planning Department at the end of his career. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and spending time on the water. He loved to cook, dance, and entertain everyone he met. His Donald Duck voice will be remembered by all who met him. His most beloved activity was spending time with his family. In his younger years he had a passion for softball.

A wake will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be on Sunday, July 13, 2025, starting with a visitation at 12 PM with services to follow at 1:30 PM in the Funeral Home chapel.
