Charles L. Sumler entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the age of 63. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Charles was employed as a warehouse supervisor with Republic National Distribution Company. Beloved husband of Malenda Thompson Sumler. Loving father of Leslie Lawrence, Keionne Sumler Thompson, Christian Washington, Charles Doyle, Darnell Doyle, Ebony Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Jr., and Deondre Thompson. Son of Lenora Sumler and the late Charles A. Sumler. Grandson of the late Charles Sumler, Juanita Graham, Samuel and EllaMae Salsbury. Brother of Karen Sumler and Kendall Sumler. Son in law of Verlia Lewis, and the late Charles Sincere, Sr., and Solomon Lewis. Brother in law of Charles Sincere, Jr., Arthur Sincere, Sr., Silis Sincere, John Thomas, Jr., Bruneicka Thomas, and the late Fabian and Jeremy Sincere, and Clarence Haynes. Nephew of Larry Salisbury, also survived by 20 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church, 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
