Mark Logan Davis of Vienna, Virginia, died at home in the early morning of Thursday, August 29th, 2024 after a multiyear battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mark was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1945 (making him, in his words, post-atomic) to Anne and Emery Davis, and after serving in the Army and getting his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1974 to begin what would become a 40-year career working in the US national security community. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, MaryBeth Davis, his children, Jacob and Angela, his daughter in law Bethany, his grandchildren Henry, Blake and Ella, all of Vienna, Virginia. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Hyden of Palatine, Illinois and his brother Emery Davis of High View, West Virginia. He will be remembered for his laugh and quick wit, his generosity, his honor, his service to his country, his passion for gardening, singing, hiking with his wife around the world, and playing with his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Comforter, 543 Beulah Road, Vienna, Virginia on Friday September 20, 2024 at 11 AM with a reception immediately following in the church annex.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made "In honor of Mark Davis" to Vienna Choral Society at https://viennachoralsociety.org/donate/ or by check to Vienna Choral Society, 1765 Greensboro Station Place, Suite 900, McLean, VA 22102.
