In Loving Memory of a Cherished Father and Friend:
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of a beloved husband, father and friend. Mark Dickinson left us earth side November 8th, 2023. He was 65 years old. He was a man who dedicated his life to serving others, a man of kindness and generosity, and left an incredible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on February 4th, 1958 in Barre Vermont, Mark was a beacon of light and a pillar of strength to his family and community. He was a man whose life was marked by an unwavering commitment to service and an enduring love for his family.
For 44 years, he served as a dedicated postal worker, delivering not just mail, but also smiles and warmth to everyone he met. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He was a man who believed in the power of connection and communication, and he used his role to foster that every day.
He was a man of simple needs, always insisting his one pair of jeans and three favorite shirts were all he needed so anyone around him had the opportunity to be spoiled by his love. His selflessness was a testament to his love for his family, always putting their needs before his own.
A lover of nature, he found solace and joy in his garden, nurturing every plant with the same love and care he extended to his family and friends. His lawn was his pride and joy, sending pictures to his family every time it was mowed with proud updates. His pool was his sanctuary, a place where he could relax and reflect, often inviting others to share in the tranquility. His love for cooking was legendary, and his dishes were a testament to his creativity and passion for life.
He was a man who embraced the digital age with enthusiasm, often expressing his feelings through emojis. His texts were always filled with colorful symbols, each one a reflection of his vibrant personality and zest for life. His favorite emojis, the bee or kite as of late, perfectly encapsulated his outlook on life - always positive, always loving.
His sudden departure has left a void in our hearts, but his spirit lives on in the memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the love he gave so freely. Mark was a devoted family man and a loving husband. He is proud of and survived by his wife of 29 years, Tamie-Jo, his eldest daughter Laura, his middle daughter Emily-Jo, and his youngest daughter Olivia-Jo. He is predeceased by his father Clifford and his mother Alice. His legacy will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, generosity, and a love for life which his family will carry.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, remembering the joy he brought into our lives. We will miss his infectious laughter, his warm hugs, and his unwavering support. But most of all, we will miss his heart, a heart that was always full of love for his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor his memory by spreading kindness, love, and positivity in your own lives. Use an emoji, plant a flower, or cook a meal for someone you love. Let's keep his spirit alive by continuing to spread the love and joy he so freely gave to us all.
Services will be held St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Shelburne Vermont, located at 72 Church St at 13:00, Friday the 17th of November 2023. Arrangements are in the care of Stephen C. Gregory & Sons, Shelburne.
Rest in peace, dear father and friend. May your memory be a blessing to all who knew you.

I worked with Mark at the South Burlington Post Office. He was a kind and a respectful man. I remembered Mark coming to the Post Office. This man was always smiling ear to ear. I asked him one time, do you have any  Postal sweaters  you don't want. He replied, I will bring you one. He did. When I heard about his passing, I was saddened. He was truly a kind man and will be missed. My condolences to Mrs Dickinson and your family. May God  comfort you and your family in this difficult time.

Mark was our mail courier for many years on Hinesburg Road, South Burlington. I had many conversations with him about all things he was interested in including religion. Back about 6 years ago , mark and I attended the RCIA program at St John Vianney church for him become catholic. It was a 6 to 7 month weekly attendant which we hardly ever missed. We developed a great friendship. The last time I saw Mark was a month ago at our landfill. Mark you will be greatly missed. RIP my friend. God Bless you and I love you.

I met Mark in 1986 when I joined the postal service, I ended up transferring away from Burlington but we would see each other now and then at union functions. My fondest memories were when he was working temporarily at Enosburg I think it was mail count or something. We would go to my house for lunch break and we played ping pong. We never ate just played. I´m sorry we hadn´t seen each other in a while. I see we were both proud of our gardens and lawns and families. My heart goes out to his family! May he rest in peace!
