I went to Virginia Tech with Mark, and although we'd lost touch over the past 15 years or so, I'll always have fond memories of our time together in college...especially our freshman year when everything is new and different. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

This man will be missed by all it didn't matter if you just met him or if you've known him for 44 years everyone has a Mark Diehl Memory. He was an outstanding leader for the Staunton Police Department that would come across so serious but in the end he just wanted to make sure Justice was Served. I'm saddened that yet another young officer has been taken away but am glad Mark is No longer in Pain and will now be with all that Protect us in this crazy world. You may be gone but you have impacted so many you can NEVER be forgotten.

I never had the privilege of meeting Sgt. Diehl but my daughter always had such good things to say about him. He will be missed Im sure by all that knew and loved him. My prayers go out to the family and friends and I hope god helps you find some peace and light in these dark days.
