Mark Fleser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Gores Funeral Home on Oct. 6, 2025.

Mark Jeffrey Fleser, age 39, of Prairieville, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1986, in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Michael Fleser Sr. and the late Karen (Slack) Fleser.

Mark was a 2005 graduate of Delton Kellogg High School, where he was an active and proud member of the school band. He later attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College before beginning a long and devoted career in funeral service. For over fifteen years, Mark worked at Williams-Gores Funeral Home, serving as office manager and assisting in nearly every aspect of operations. His dedication, reliability, and care for the families he served made him an indispensable part of the team and a familiar face to many in the community. Prior to his work in funeral service, he was employed for five years at the local hardware store.

Mark believed in serving his community beyond his career as well. He was a member of the Barry County Sheriff's Posse holding the position of sergeant and the Barry Township Reserve Squad, volunteering countless hours to help others.

A lifelong learner with a wide range of interests, Mark was passionate about 3D printing and loved creating detailed figurines and custom designs. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 294 and spent several summers working at the Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation beginning in 2002. He cherished the opportunity to travel with the Delton Band to Hawaii for Pearl Harbor Day-a memory he often spoke about with pride.

Mark had a knack for finding joy in life's simple adventures-walking the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day, camping with family and his trusty companion Charlie, photographing the world around him, and seeking out Great Lakes freighters along the shores of Duluth and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He also enjoyed cooking, especially spicy dishes and homemade hot sauces, and relaxing with a good comedy or movie.

Mark is survived by his siblings, Vicki (Dustin) Anderson, Michael (Amber) Fleser Jr., and Marty Fleser; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Logan and Duncan Anderson, and Simon and Onalee Fleser.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Williams-Gores Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Delton, followed by interment at Prairieville Cemetery. In true Mark fashion, the family invites everyone to wear a flannel or a funky Hawaiian shirt to the visitation or service – just the way he'd like it.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delton Kellogg Band, supporting their upcoming trip to Hawaii for Pearl Harbor Day-a cause that held special meaning to Mark.

The staff of Williams-Gores Funeral Home extend their heartfelt condolences to Mark's family and friends, and their deepest gratitude for his many years of faithful service, kindness, and care to the families of our community.
