Mark Anthony Hernandez, 32 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2025. Mark was born on July 7th, 1992, in Detroit, Michigan to Deborah and Mark Hernandez. He was the oldest brother of his two sisters, Alysa and Ava. He grew up in Macomb Township where he quickly became known for his athletic abilities.
He started his sporting career at the age of four playing T-ball to then breaking school track records at Iroquois Middle School. His 400m record at 57 seconds is still unbroken to this day. His love for football and track succeeded him in High School. During his freshman year, he was moved to varsity when they won the Division 1 State Championship football game at Ford Field. Soon after, he attended Parkway Christian school where he graduated.
After graduation, he went into Trade School where he was one of the 12 graduates chosen, out of 400 people, to become a Millwright for Local 1102. He was then hired by Stellantis as a Millwright. He was very proud to be a part of the brotherhood where he spent seven years forging strong friendships and taking great pride in his contributions.
In 2015, he welcomed his first child, Vance Kennedy Patrick Hernandez. This was a monumental moment which filled his heart with immeasurable love. Two years later in 2017, the family grew once more, welcoming Vayson Anthony Hernandez. Fatherhood was his greatest joy, and he embraced it with endless love, unwavering commitment, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
Mark had a deep love for poetry and art. He had a gift for seeing the world through a unique lens which allowed him to uncover hidden layers of meaning that others often missed. He possessed a rare gift to transform his thoughts and experiences into creations that left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to encounter them. His sharp mind was matched by his enthusiasm for life, always finding new ways to enjoy the world. His wit and playful spirit were infectious, making every moment special.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Vance and Vayson Hernandez. His parents Mark (Jacqueline) Hernandez and Deborah Lindow-Hernandez; sisters Alysa Rae and Ava Racquel Hernandez; stepsister/stepbrother Samantha and Blake Stevens. Also survived by his grandmother Marilyn Lindow (Kirkland) and his grandfather Richard (Penny) Hernandez and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark is predeceased by his nana Cara Hernandez (Hassler) and grandfather Michael Lindow.
