Mark Hurst Obituary
Mark Randall Hurst, 63, of New Castle passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born March 14, 1962 in Indianapolis to the late James Lloyd Hurst and Pauline Ruth (Pollard) Hurst.
Mark had been employed at Vystar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Florida. He had also taught middle school in Ft Wayne, Anderson and Indianapolis for several years. He was affiliated with Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA). He was an avid reader and enjoyed genealogy. A Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed traveling in his earlier years and had a passion for history and loved sharing his knowledge.
Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years: Pamela (Henson) Hurst, whom he married. Brothers: Dennis (Judy) Hurst of Straughn, Jay (dec.) wife Yvonne and their daughter, Tammy. Nieces and nephews: Tyson (Matthew) Hurst, Mark Deiwert, Stacy Deiwert, Michael Hurst and his daughter, Caroline and Dennis M Hurst, Mathis Maloney, Mother-in-Law: Juanita Hensen, two Sister-in-Laws: Wanda Hensen, Yvonne Maloney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Father-in-Law: James Franklin Henson.
Services will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, New Castle Chapel at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025 with Dr. Kristofer Holroyd officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, New Castle Chapel. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
