Mark Jacobitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 8, 2025.
Mark J. Jacobitz Jr., age 78, of Johnstown, NY, passed away on Saturday January 4, 2025, at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, NY.
Born on January 6, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Mark Sr. and Ann Jacobitz.
Mark was a graduate of JHS class of 1964. He then went on to graduate from SUNY Geneseo class of 1969. He was a true sportsman. In his younger years he enjoyed baseball, track, and skiing. As an adult he enjoyed basketball, tennis, boating, fishing, hunting, skiing, canoeing, and kayaking.
He had a long career as a commercial claims adjuster for several major insurance companies. He believed that you got your exercise through work. He devoted many hours serving his community as an active member of several local clubs. He was a life member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club, Johnstown Moose, NYS Rifle and Pistol, and NRA. Mark was also a member of the Johnstown Fish and Game, MECO Volunteer Fire Department, East Canda Fish and Game, Johnstown Eagles, and Bigelow Weavers. He is especially remembered for his wonderful beer battered fish dinners on Friday nights at the Johnstown Moose.
Mark knew the Lord as his strength and support. May the Lord now welcome him home.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
