Mark Fredrick Julian, 58, of Columbia, MO went home to be with Jesus on January 25, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born February 4, 1966 in LaPorte, IN, to Fred and Carole (Glenn) Julian. Mark was married to Stephanie (Larenson) Julian on June 18, 2008. He described their marriage as a "match made in Heaven, however remember, thunder and lightning are made in Heaven, too."
Mark was known to family and friends as the "computer guru". He had an extensive resume and multitudes of certifications. He was a co-founder of ITNS (a Medical Software Support Company) and an expert in network administration. He's even fixed a server once with a blow torch. He could swing a hammer, work on a car, fix a pocket watch, build a tube amp and wire elevators all while being color-blind.
Mark had a passion for Columbia's unsheltered population and the Food Bank, specifically their buddy pack program. He was a dedicated and active member of Compass Evangelical Free Church. He was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs football. He enjoyed working around the house, 3D printing little trinkets, spoiling his grand-littles and traveling the US with Stephanie. He was also a man of quick wit; he could calm the storm in others and was faithful to find something to "laugh" about in the worst of situations. You were always comfortable in his presence. When he held his grand-littles he completely "lost his man card" and was proud of it every time.
He is survived by his incredible parents Fred and Carole, love of his life, Stephanie, his sisters Michelle and Sherry, brother Michael and their spouses and families. His legacy and pride however were his children: Mark, Melissa, Daniel, Kari and Josh, and "Daido" to Aubrey, Collins, Cooper, Gray and anticipating one more.
Stephanie would like to thank the physicians and nursing staff at Missouri Cancer Associates, Stewart Cancer Center of Boone Hospital and Hospice Compassus (Columbia) for the compassionate and expert care throughout his illness. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory, 12 East Ash Street, Columbia, MO 65203 (573) 449-4153. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.millardfamilychapels.com.
