Mark Richard LaVoie, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the age of 75.
This Saturday's child was born April 24, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry A. and Ruth M. Brown LaVoie.
Mark graduated from Mount Clemens High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. He was employed in the landscaping industry in sales. Not surprising, his love of landscaping would be part of his enjoyment of the outdoors and nature. He found peace and tranquility spending time on the beach, being warmed by the sun and the calmness of the water. One could take pleasure in meditating in this environment, and he did. He played guitar, liked the music of the Beach Boys, and reading. He was a free spirit who had a devoted group of friends.
His survivors include his granddaughter Riley Kilburn, two great grandchildren, Greyson and Jevani, his siblings, Donna LaVoie, Jill (the late George) Watson, Lynn (Michael Herron) LaVoie, Kevin (Karen) LaVoie, five nieces, and their families and former wife Linda Palko.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Rachael.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan.
Contributions may be addressed to the American Cancer Society.
