Mark Matzke Obituary
Mark was born on September 14, 1954, in Algoma, WI, to Ruben and Alvina Matzke. He was baptized and confirmed into Christ.
Mark met his future wife, Darci Martin, in Egg Harbor, WI, at a barn dance. The two were wed exactly one year later on August 7, 1982, at Calvary, Thiensville, WI. He was a devoted husband for 42 1/2 years to his beloved wife before she entered her eternal rest. Mark and Darci were blessed with three wonderful children, who were always in their hearts and in their prayers.
Mark graduated from UW-Whitewater. He worked as the controller for A&J Mobility in Valders, WI, for many years until his retirement in December 2020. Mark served faithfully in various capacities at his church.
Mark is survived by his children, Matthew Matzke, Jeremy Matzke, and Kristin (Michael) Litynski; his dear grandchildren, Ella and Ian; his sisters, Liz (Ken) Birnschein, Millie (the late Phil) Sunstrom, Priscilla (Keith) Kopczynski, and Rachel (Greg) Ryan; his parents-in-law, David and Yvonne Martin; and his brother-in-law, Scott (Jennifer) Martin. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by and is joyfully reunited in heaven with his wife, Darci; his unborn child; his stillborn grandchild; his parents, Ruben and Alvina Matzke; and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road, Manitowoc, WI, 54220. Rev. Foelske will officiate with burial to take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mark's name.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

I didn't know Mark, but all who loved him have my condolences. Whoever wrote his obituary did an outstanding job of it. It says more about him than some long, tedious, bragging do. You told the most important parts of his story perfectly. He would be SO proud of you! I've been mulling on a Bible verse I will want people to remember me by. 2nd Timothy 4:7 is up there in the top three. Thank you for the few beautiful moments I had reading about a good man.
