Mr. Mark Austin Morris, age 56, of Salter Path, North Carolina (formerly of Powder Springs) passed away on July 8, 2024. He was born in Atlanta on August 22, 1967. Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Brown.
Mark was a 1985 graduate of McEachern High School. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing in softball leagues around Cobb County. Mark worked for many years as an Electrician and in his later years, specialized in renovating and managing motels. Mr. Morris was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to never meet a stranger. Mark was an avid Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Braves fan. Mr. Morris was loved by all, and he is deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his father and stepmother, Floyd Austin Morris and Jeanie Morris of Temple; his sisters, Kim Meadows of Talking Rock and Deanna Lovell of Cartersville; his fiancée, Tanya Stripling of Salter Path, North Carolina; his daughter, Breanna Miller of Hiwassee; his brother and sister-in-law, Jody and Laura Thompson of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Ashley Stewart, Trey Lovell, Kylee Miller, and Kaci Miller; his uncle and aunt, Buzz and Tammy Brown. Mr. Morris is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Villa Rica Civic Center (1605 GA-61, Villa Rica, GA 30180) from 12 Noon until 5 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, attendees are encouraged to bring memorabilia and photos of Mark to the Celebration. The family also requests casual attire.
