Mark O'Connor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home - Mantua on Oct. 21, 2023.
Our dear brother, Mark Stephen O'Connor age 69 of Wenonah, New Jersey sadly passed away on October 17, 2023, at his residence.
Born on October 31, 1953, to the late Leon P. (Dick) O'Connor, Jr and Kathleen (Kay) O'Connor, Mark grew up in the Red Rose Gate section in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his 5 siblings: Kathleen O'Connor Hart (Jack), Kevin O'Connor (Lauren Wilson), Elizabeth (Beth) O'Connor Worthington (Chuck), Sean O'Connor (Rosemarie Lawson), Christopher O'Connor (Debbie) and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his companion Jack Brusca, brother Lee O'Connor (Gayle Stahlhuth) and nephew Michael O'Connor.
Mark was a 1971 graduate of Neshaminy High School and worked in the courier industry specializing in emergency services for the last 20+ years. Mark was devoted to his family and a loyal friend to many. He was very gifted with a pen. If you were a recipient of a letter or even a birthday card, he had a magical way of putting his sentiments on paper. You wouldn't just read something from him once, you would cherish it as something very special.
He was also the family historian. Mark remembered everything that happened in the family past and present. He had a way of recalling the names of childhood neighbors as well as countless stories from the past. He had a wonderful mind! He was always a bright light and wouldn't hesitate to share that light with anyone he was around. His recollections of events and humorous anecdotes will be missed.
Mark loved his family fiercely. He was a terrific son, brother and uncle. He had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed making his nieces and nephews laugh. He also enjoyed landscaping and was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was very loved and will be missed terribly.
Memorial Services will be held at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, Pa 19056 on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Visitation will take place from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the church with Mass to follow at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Queen of the Universe Parish in memory of Mark O'Connor.
