Mark C. Pack, 82, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away after a long struggle with heart and kidney disease on April 22, 2025. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1942 to Ivan Pack and Phyllis Pratt, Mark lived a life full of love, service, and a deep appreciation for the treasures in life, both big and small.
A graduate of East High School, Mark was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1964, where he served his country honorably. It was during his youth at Webster Elementary School where Mark first met Marilyn Ann Budd, the love of his life. Their bond was undeniable from the start, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1966, enjoying 55 years of marriage built on trust, companionship, and shared joy.
Mark had an identical twin brother, Steven, who was not just his sibling but his very best friend. Their close relationship was a cornerstone of Mark's life, and the loss of Steven, who passed away too soon, was something Mark carried with him always. Mark also had an older brother, Ivan, whom he loved deeply. The bond they shared was one of mutual respect and affection, and Ivan's presence in Mark's life was always a source of strength and guidance.
A super-dedicated and hard-working man, Mark served as a Maintenance Engineer at the Hilton Hotel, where he was known for his reliability and attention to detail. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to others, whether on the job or in his personal life.
Mark had a true passion for fixing things-whether it was a broken fixture, an old antique, or a worn-down lawn mower, he always believed there was something to be salvaged. His love for antiques extended beyond mere collections; for him, everything had a story, a history, and a place in his life. He thrived on finding treasures in the most unexpected places, seeing value in the things others overlooked. If you ever went to a flea market, a yard sale, or an antique car show, you could be sure Mark was the one who'd walk away with something unique.
In addition to his love for collecting, Mark shared a special bond with animals, particularly dogs and cats. He, along with Marilyn, made sure their home was a haven for animals.
Mark was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in numerous callings with a willing heart and an unwavering commitment to his faith. His service extended far beyond the walls of the church, as he always had a kind word and a helping hand for anyone in need.
Mark is survived by his daughters Merrilee (Les) and Madelon (Dan), and son Miles (Brittany); his four grandchildren: Miles Delmar (23), Jake (17), Kate (15), and Maelie (14), as well as his great-grandson, Mason (10 months). Mark has now been reunited with his beloved wife, Marilyn and fifth grandchild, Maesyn Brinlee Pack, who have been waiting with open arms.
Though Mark's presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, generosity, and the belief that one person's junk is another's treasure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at the VA Hospital and the Salt Lake Veterans Home for their exceptional care and compassion. Your kindness and professionalism will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans at DAV.org

What a great neighbor & friend! I am going to miss your friendship & our BS session we shared often! Especially enjoyed your vast knowledge & your collection of items in your garage & shed! What a collector! You always had the right tool when I needed to barrow it from you! What a champion! Both Marilyn&yourself will always be in my heart! Rest in peace my brother!
