Mark Christopher Perales, 51, husband, father, son, Popo and friend to many went to be with
the Lord on April 9, 2024.
Mark was born to Adela Perales on January 3, 1973, in Rotan, Texas. He married Christiana
Govea on February 24, 2023. Mark had many hobbies; he loved to sing karaoke and when it
came to him not knowing the lyrics he would improvise without missing a beat. Mark enjoyed
listening to all kinds of genres of music, but country and Tejano were his go to. The stockyards
or better yet “My Backyard”, as Mark would say, and the North Side community were greatly
loved by Mark. He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys football team followed by the
Texas Rangers, but the Texas Longhorns were his all-time team. Mark never met a stranger, he
always made friends wherever he went, filled with lots of joy, love, compassion and a positive
outlook. He was always a very selfless person that would help anywhere and anyone that he
saw was in need. Mark always put his family first before himself. Mark was the type of person
that when things went downhill for him, he would come back stronger than before no matter the
situation. Mainly, Mark loved and fiercely protected his family, kids and grandkids.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lenor Perales; his uncles, Alfred
Perales, Albert Perales and Rudy Perales; his aunts, Minie Perales, Emily Perales and Mary
Frances Garcia; his grandson, Christopher John Paul.
Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Christiana Perales; his children
Mark Christopher Perales, Christi Perales, Jacolby Perales, Gilbert Arredondo III, Mariah
Arredondo, David Patino, Nicholas Patino, Celine Burciaga; his grandchildren Ava Perales,
Emilia Christiana Burciaga Patino, Nova Renee Arredondo, Adela Perales; along with extended
family members and a host of friends.
