Mark Powell Obituary
April 2, 1961 - January 2, 2026
Mark E. Powell, age 64, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Underwood, IA, passed away January 2, 2026, at Northcrest Care Center. Mark was born April 2, 1961, in Council Bluffs to Charles and Marilyn A. (Cohrs) Powell. He graduated from Underwood, IA High School in 1979. Mark served on the McClelland, IA and Underwood, IA Volunteer Fire & Rescue Departments in his younger years. He was of the Lutheran faith. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Powell in 2019. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Powell of Underwood; sisters, Lynne Rogers of Gladbrook, IA, Lisa (Randy) Schneider of Cody, NE; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.
Funeral service, Thursday, 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. A small brunch will follow in the Cutler-O'Neill Community Room. Interment Fisher Cemetery in Underwood. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Underwood, IA Fire & Rescue Dept.
