Jean Torneten Obituary
Jean L. Torneten, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on October 27, 2025.
She was born September 14, 1933, to the late Louis and Louella (Thomas) Manhart in Harrison County, IA. Jean graduated from Underwood High School with the class of 1951 and was a longtime member of Saint John United Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Keith Torneten; sister, June Wyland; infant sister, Jane Manhart; step father, Bernard Johnson.
Jean is survived by her husband of 72 years, Melvin Torneten; son; Kevin Torneten (Barb VonWeihe); grandchildren, Jessica Sanders (Bobby), Dillon Torneten (Julie Ann); great grandchildren, Tielyr Sanders, Blayke Sanders, Jameson Sanders, Emslie Torneten, and Rhayden Torneten; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, October 31, 2025. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, October 31, 2025. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
