Donald Raymond Nielsen

April 11, 1947 - August 23, 2025

Donald Raymond Nielsen, age 78, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 23, 2025, at his residence. Don was born April 11, 1947, in Underwood, IA., to the late Raymond and Velma (Kuhl) Nielsen and was a graduate of Underwood High School.

He worked for over 43 years at Charles Schneider Furniture as a builder and upholsterer. Don is a member of the Lutheran faith, he loved fishing and camping, the Minnesota Vikings and his two 1955 Chevy's. Don and wife Michelle celebrated 31 years of marriage together.

In his finals years he was able to see the mountains of Colorado and watch his grandchildren fly their model airplanes in which he taught them.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Raymond Michael Brown; brother Raymond Nielsen Jr.; brother- in- law Tom Emmi.

Don is survived by his wife Michelle; daughters, Teresa Brown, Debbie (Michael) Pryor, all of Council Bluffs, Kathy (Chris) Corbiere, of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chelsea Brown, Connor (Casey) Brown and their children, Dyllan, Eurijah and Monte, Kyle (Madison) Brown and their daughter, Norah, Carson Brown, Karly Brown, Grant Pryor, Garrett Pryor, Chloe Pryor, Jordan (Drew) Stoller and their children, Lucy and Mira, Lexis (Haydn) Lane and their children, Baker and Dakota, Kalista Wallace, Brynna Corbiere; stepson, John Trapani; sisters, Carol Ann Emmi, Mary Ellen (Joe) Bondi; brother, James E. (Goldie) Nielsen; nieces, nephews.

Visitation Tuesday 5 – 7 p.m. at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home. Funeral service Wednesday 12 p.m. also at the funeral home, with refreshments immediately following in the Community Room. Burial in Fisher Cemetery, Underwood, IA.
