Mark R. Skibba, age 68, of Stevens Point died peacefully Sunday, June 26th, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was born June 19th, 1954 in Stevens Point, WI. He is the son of the late Raphael Skibba and Regina (Grzanka) Skibba. Mark joined the US Army in 1972 alongside his brother, Charlie. Mark's service was highlighted by his time as an Ammo Sergeant in West Germany. When he returned from service, he worked multiple jobs including as a dispatcher for the Portage County Sheriff's office and working for his brother John at Skibba Construction.
His pride and joy came about when he started Custer Construction where he built houses across the Midwest for 24 years. He brought houses to life and built lasting relationships with every one of the owners he built for; he truly lived out his company's motto, "From Dreams to Reality." When the housing marked slowed in 2008, Mark persevered and switched professions at the age of 54 when he went back to school to get his commercial driver's license. He worked for Werner Enterprises and then drove for Dwayne Sutheimer Incorporated into his retirement.
When he wasn't on the road, you could catch Mark at the local watering hole trading stories and jokes of the good ole' days as well as never turning down the microphone during karaoke. He was an avid sports fan always rooting for the Green Bay Packers and listening to Bob Uecker commentate the Brewers every summer. Mark was always around to help those that needed it, he was always a phone call away.
Mark is survived by his children Matthew, Stevens Point; Lucas, Wilmington, OH; Samantha, Oshkosh; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Mike (Linda), Custer; Charles (Ellen), Wild Rose; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raphael and Regina and his brothers John and Anthony.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mark will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 7176 Esker Road Custer. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
