Eva was born on November 17, 1925 in Milladore, WI to the late William and Eva (Merrill) Haasl. She married Neil Skibba on September 9, 1948 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Professionally, Eva worked for the families of Dr. George Reis and Frank Maurer for many years. During World War II she worked at the Falk Corp. defense plant in Milwaukee sharpening tools for machinists to help make gears for Navy Ships. She also worked for Sowatzkes's Root Beer Stand near Witter Field, Consolidated Papers Inc., and Normington's Laundry. Eva, along with her sister, Bea, played guitar and sang for WFHR Radio, and performed for many community functions, parties, and festivals. In her spare time, Eva enjoyed reading the bible, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, dancing, playing guitar and singing for the grandkids, watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She loved flowers and gardening, and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. More than anything, Eva loved to be a mother and grandmother. She always looked forward to spending time with her family any chance she could.

Eva and Neil were like grandparents to our sons with my sons calling them grandma and grandpa. Years later, Eva sent me a picture of one of my sons having breakfast with Neil finding out that the boys went across the street and told them mom didn´t make breakfast-at least one they liked! They were a beautiful couple and we missed them dearly when we moved away. We were unable to attend the funeral because of a recent surgery, but would´ve given anything to have been there. Condolences to their sons and families. With happy memories, John and Candy Daoust.

Eva was a beautiful person inside and out. She was sharp and witty and never looked her age! She will be missed. I used to see her when she paid her taxes to me at Grand Rapids, and later years just here and there in a store or restaurant. She always had time for small talk. Eva sent me the sweetest card when we lost our daughter Brianna. She was a sister to my step grandfather Ray.
