Mark Stinson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelsons Cremation & Funeral Services - Gaylord on Jan. 5, 2026.
Mark P. Stinson, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 69, in Vanderbilt, Michigan. He was born on May 5, 1956, in St. Johns, Michigan, the son of David and Marvel (Courtwright) Stinson.
Mark's journey began in the small town of St. Johns, where he was filled with a deep appreciation for hard work and the simpler pleasures of life. His hands, skilled and sure, found their calling in the art of automotive repair. Mark was not just a mechanic; he was a craftsman who took pride in the roar of a well-tuned engine and the gleam of a freshly restored chassis.
Beyond the walls of his workshop, Mark was an avid outdoorsman who embraced the call of nature. Camping was not just a pastime but a passion. He found solace in the rustle of leaves, the crackle of a campfire, and the serene beauty of Michigan's landscapes.
Mark is survived by his children, Nathan Paul Stinson of Oscoda, Syrena Elizabeth (Anthony) Weber of Gaylord, and Cassandra (Alex Haas) Stinson of Vanderbilt; his grandchildren, Izicck Sharp, Andrien Lee Stinson, Gage Alexander Haas, and Logan Weber; and his siblings, Gain Stinson, Nana Mahar, and Lora Stinson.
As we bid farewell to Mark P. Stinson, we celebrate a life well-lived. He leaves behind a love for the world around him that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been part of his story.
At this time, the family has chosen to remember him privately, Please share your stories and memories of Mark in the "Share a Memory" section.
