Mark Welch Obituary

MARK T. WELCH

August 11, 1956 – October 31, 2024

Bakersfield – Mark Thomas "Pops" Welch, 68, was born in San Luis Obispo to Richard and Tamme Welch, the first son (and second child) of six.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his first grandson, Lance Gabriel Welch. He is survived by his beloved wife Michelle, their four children and spouses, 12 grandchildren, five siblings and spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He cherished and loved each and every one of us.

Mark was a passionate Christian, Husband, Father, and Conservative (in that order). He was also a very talented musician. He was a retail salesman by trade, most recently a "Peddler of Authentic Motorcycles" for over 17 years at Bakersfield Harley-Davidson.

A Celebration of Life will be held November 8, 2024 at 11AM, at Canyon Hills Assembly of God.

Preceding the service, there will be a motorcycle memorial ride from Bakersfield Harley-Davidson (staging 9AM, KSU/departing 10AM).

In lieu of flowers and due to Mark's sudden passing, donations to cover funeral and general expenses would be greatly appreciated and can be made at a GiveSendGo webpage under Michelle Welch.

Special thanks to Canyon Hills AOG, Mission Family Mortuary, BHD, and all our friends and family for your support.

Mark was my first boyfriend ever! It lasted all of about three weeks, but that´s epic for 7th grade. What a special, sweet, kind, and nice guy. My sincere condolences to his family.

We first met Mark and Michelle at BCLC in the mid 1980’s. Mark was a worship leader in our Sunday School class and one of the most gifted musicians we had ever seen play a guitar. Even though our lives took different paths, it was great fun running into Michelle a few years back and Michelle encouraging us to go over to Harley Davidson and surprise Mark and see his “metamorphosis” from our early days.

Michelle, we are so sorry for you and your family's loss. Mark was a wonderful person. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss
New Mark since junior high. Great salesman, new politics, and more. Told Mark he needs to get into talk radio Show,We just laughed. Really good music, talent, I was just thinking about Mark driving by Harley Davidson the other day. I would stop in there once in a while to talk to Mark. Sad to hear he´s gone. God bless you Mark and your family.
